Broward County Emergency Order 20-18
In response to an increase in COVID-19 cases, Broward County issued Emergency Order 20-18, instituting penalties for businesses not in compliance with COVID-19 requirements in previous Emergency Orders. This includes guidelines for sanitization, social distancing, facial coverings and more. The order goes into effect at 12:01 am on Friday, June 26. Facebook Live Town Hall June 25
Tamarac Mayor Michelle J. Gomez will join other local mayors and elected officials to discuss concerns about COVID-19, reopenings and resources for residents in a Facebook Live town hall meeting at 6 pm tomorrow, June 25. Watch it live at https://www.facebook.com/tamarac.florida/.

COVID-19 Testing
The City will continue to offer COVID-19 testing next week at the Tamarac Recreation Center, 7501 N. University Dr., in partnership with the Florida Department of Health. The testing site will be open from 9 am – 4 pm Tuesday, June 30, through Thursday, July 2. Appointments are preferred, but not mandatory, and can be made by calling (954) 412-7300. Masks and a form of ID are required.

Food Distribution
Upcoming Feeding South Florida food distribution events in Tamarac include:

• Saturday, June 27, 9 – 11 am, Korean United Methodist Church, 6501 W. Commercial Blvd.
• Monday June 29, 9 – 11 am, Community Christian Church, 10001 W. Commercial Blvd.

Household Hazardous Waste
The City is hosting a household hazardous waste (HHW) event from 9 am – 2 pm on Saturday, June 27, at 6011 Nob Hill Rd., for residents of Tamarac and these participating cities: Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Lauderdale Lakes, North Lauderdale, Parkland and Pompano Beach. Materials for drop off should be placed in car trunks or in the bed of pickup trucks. Participants should remain in their vehicles with windows up during the drop off. SBA Disaster Recovery Q&A Sessions
The South Florida District Office of the Small Business Administration is offering Disaster Recovery Q&A sessions this week to answer questions about the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL). Fourth of July
While Tamarac’s regular Fourth of July celebrations are canceled this year, the City is hosting a patriotic yard decorating contest to celebrate the holiday and showcase community spirit. Residents are encouraged to decorate their front yards, take a photo and share it on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #TamaracsMostPatrioticYard. They are also asked to post photos in the comment section of the Tamarac Parks and Recreation Facebook page post about the contest. Two winners will be chosen based on overall aesthetics, originality and effort. Winners will receive a $150 Visa Gift Card. The deadline to submit photos is Friday, July 3. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, July 7.
