A Message from the Mayor and Commission
Tuesday, June 9, 4:45 pm
The City has opened its turf and baseball fields to groups of less than eight and is allowing field rentals. Requirements include having one coach present for every nine children and social distancing. Games are still prohibited, but this allows for skills training in small groups. The skate park at the Sports Complex will open tomorrow, June 10. Skaters must follow social distancing guidelines and no more than 10 skaters will be allowed in the facility at a time.
Broward County’s Emergency Order 20-15 allowed youth activities, including summer camps, to operate with restrictions starting this week. Please note, the City of Tamarac’s summer camp program is canceled this year because of concerns about the spread of COVID-19 and to protect the health of children.
Starting next Monday, June 15, the Emergency Order allows facilities such as bowling alleys, arcades, indoor movie theaters and pari-mutuel facilities to open, with restrictions. It also allows vacation rentals consistent with the County’s Vacation Rental Reopening Plan and increases museum capacities from 25% to 50%.
The full order can be read at https://www.broward.org/CoronaVirus/Documents/2020-06-05%20EO%2020-15%20(executed).pdf.
