The City of Tamarac will start taking applications on April 27 for a new program offering temporary mortgage, rent and utility payment assistance to individuals hurt financially by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Qualified applicants can receive up to three months of assistance, not to exceed $5,000, through the 2020 SHIP Temporary Mortgage, Rent and Utility Payment Assistance Program. This program is offered in partnership with the State Housing Initiatives Partnership program (SHIP).
Applications will be accepted until funds are exhausted. Applicants must have a verifiable and documented income hardship and live in Tamarac. Funds will be sent directly to landlords, mortgage lenders and utility providers.
