TAMARAC, Fla. (August 14, 2023) – With great sadness the City of Tamarac announces the passing of Harry Dressler, 74, former Mayor of Tamarac. Dressler passed away Saturday, Aug. 12. He will be laid to rest Tuesday, Aug. 15.
Harry Dressler served as Mayor of Tamarac from January 2014 until November 2018. He faithfully served as Tamarac’s District 4 Commissioner from March 2006 until January 2014. During his tenure as a City of Tamarac Commission Member, Dressler took great pride in his efforts toward strengthening the City’s relationship with the Broward County Commission and Broward Sherriff's Office. Additionally, Dressler represented Tamarac for several years as a Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization delegate and as a Broward League of Cities Board Member.
Professionally, Dressler was President of Dressler Strategic Advisors, which formed in 2005 to provide consulting, mediation advice and expert witness services to parties involved in security-related litigation. For 16 years of his career, Dressler held roles such as Senior Vice President and branch manager for several major Wall Street firms.
Dressler earned an MBA from the University of Miami, a Master of Education from Cambridge College in Boston and a Bachelor of Arts from Goodard College in Vermont. He also completed the Senior Manager’s Program at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, along with several financial and public pension-related certifications.
Harry Dressler was a loving husband, father and local government leader who will be missed by the City of Tamarac.
