National Child Abuse Prevention Month recognizes the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect. Through collaboration with organizations such as the CSC and Prevent Child Abuse Florida, Tamarac is helping to strengthen local families to prevent child abuse and neglect by providing prevention services and support to help protect children and produce thriving families.
"Every child deserves to feel safe and loved; yet, so many do not at the hands of abuse and neglect,” said Gelin. “I am honored to represent the City of Tamarac and work with these resourceful community organizations to help make our community safer for our children."
CSC is an independent taxing authority established by voter referendum in 2000 and reauthorized in 2014. Its mission is to provide leadership, advocacy, and resources necessary to enhance the lives of the children of Broward County and empower them to become responsible, productive adults through collaborative planning and funding of a continuum of quality care.
