TAMARAC, Fla. (November 4, 2021) – The City of Tamarac has opened registration for its most celebrated Thanksgiving tradition, the Tamarac Turkey Trot 5K, which dates back to 1980.
This year marks the 40th in-person Turkey Trot. In 2020, the race took place virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For more than four decades, this long-standing tradition has brought residents from Tamarac and its surrounding communities together for a day of celebration, fitness and fun.
Registration is open to runners, walkers and wheelchair participants of all ages. The first 1500 registrants will receive a commemorative Tamarac Turkey Trot t-shirt and headband. All runners completing the race will receive a finisher medal. Trophies will go to the top three overall male and female finishers and age group winners.
Online registration is available until noon, Nov. 24, at www.runsignup.com/tamaracturkeytrot. Entry fees are $30 until Nov. 15, $35 from Nov. 16-24. On race day, registration is $50 per entry.
