Notice is hereby given that the City of Tamarac is offering citizens the opportunity to comment on the proposed grant application for the Rebuild Florida General Infrastructure Program’s competitive solicitation issued by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO). This program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant - Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) to address unmet infrastructure needs related to the protection of critical facilities. The project will consist of construction activities to improve and harden the water facilities in Tamarac Utility East (TUE), an area extending from NW 31st Avenue to Prospect Road and NW 15th Avenue. These activities include the installation of a new water main to ensure service during an emergency. The City is requesting $6,000,000. The program does not require matching funds from the Town.
The comment period begins on August 18, 2021 and ends on September 1, 2021. All comments must be submitted to Jack.Strain@tamarac.org and received no later than close of business September 1, 2021 to be included with the application package that will be submitted to the State of Florida.
