Notice is hereby given that the City of Tamarac is offering citizens the opportunity to make comments on its grant application for the CARES Act, Community Development Block Grant – Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) federal funding program competitive solicitation issued by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) with funding provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block (CDBG) to address prevent, prepare for, and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The project will provide for the construction/reconstruction of sidewalks to allow for social distancing and ADA accessibility to mass transit for Tamarac residents in LMI (low to moderate income) locations within the City. The City of Tamarac is requesting $181,156. The program does not require matching funds from the City.
The comment period will be held in a real-time virtual public hearing during the March 10, 2021 City Commission meeting, which starts at 7 pm. Comments may also be submitted to maxine.calloway@tamarac.org and must be received no later than close of business March 11, 2021. Comments will be included with the application package submitted to the State of Florida.
