[ARCHIVED] Tropical Storm Eta

Weather alert

The City is carefully monitoring Tropical Storm Eta. Canals have been lowered in anticipation of heavy rains and Tamarac is well prepared to mitigate impacts from the storm.

As Tropical Storm Eta continues to approach, the following closures and service interruptions have been announced:

  • Tamarac facilities and City parks will remain closed and the City’s Red Route community shuttle service will be suspended on Monday, November 9.
  • Broward County’s non-emergency operations closed at 5 pm today and will remain closed November 9.
  • Broward County Public Schools will revert to 100% eLearning November 9. Details at www.Browardschools.com.

At this time, Waste Management will make every effort to complete garbage service on Monday. However, residents are asked to be patient as collection may be delayed. Bulk collection is suspended tomorrow and will be collected on the next regularly scheduled bulk day. Bulk waste should only be set out when the threat of tropical weather subsides.

Remember, if you are experiencing localized flooding in your area, please call (954) 597-3775.
