Construction is underway on radio and cell towers in the City that support vital communication needs.
- To upgrade its regional 911 communications system and improve public safety, Broward County is placing a 300-foot-tall radio tower behind the City Hall complex. An existing City-owned radio tower will be removed, and a cell tower will remain at the location. The new radio tower is scheduled for delivery in July. The entire project, including the installation of an equipment shed and fencing, is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
- To keep cellular phone service strong in the community, a 100-foot, palm tree-shaped tower will be erected in the southwest corner of the Caporella Aquatic Complex parking lot. It will replace a cell tower being removed from the Tamarac Village site, the only one in the immediate area. This project should be finished late this summer.
