NOTICE OF ACCEPTANCE OF APPLICATIONS
FOR MEMBERSHIP ON CITY OF TAMARAC BOARDS & COMMITTEES


The City of Tamarac is presently seeking City of Tamarac residents to serve on the following Boards and Committees:

Planning Board

Applications are being accepted for regular member vacancies and alternate member vacancies on the Planning Board from residents City-wide. Meetings take place on the first Wednesday of each month at 9:00 a.m. in Commission Chambers at Tamarac City Hall. The Board is comprised of five regular (5) members and two (2) alternate members and is responsible for advising and making recommendations to the City Commission regarding land development matters. Persons possessing experience or interest in the following areas shall receive special consideration: Architecture or landscape architecture, environmental science, real estate, urban planning, engineering or neighborhood, condominium or homeowners association activist.

Public Art Committee

Applications are being accepted for vacancies on the Public Art Committee from residents City-wide. Meetings take place on the third Tuesday of each month beginning at 4:30 p.m., Conference Room 204, at Tamarac City Hall. The Committee is comprised of five (5) members who live or conduct business in the City of Tamarac. Committee membership may include: individuals chosen from the following disciplines: landscape architecture, urban planning, engineering or related design discipline; professional artist; citizen knowledgeable in the field of public art, education or community affairs and a representative from the development community.

Parks & Recreation Board

Applications are being accepted for vacancies on the Parks & Recreation Board from City-wide. Meetings take place on the first Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation Administration Building, 6001 Nob Hill Road. The Board is comprised of five (5) members and makes recommendations concerning recreational needs for the entire City, as well as recommendations about existing and proposed parks and recreation programs.

City of Tamarac advisory board and committee members serve without compensation. If you are interested in serving on a Board or Committee, please apply by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2019. Application forms are available by visiting www.tamarac.org or by calling the City Clerk’s Office at (954) 597-3505.
