Two water distribution systems serving the City of Tamarac will temporarily return to free chlorination of the drinking water from Tuesday, June 20, 2017 through Tuesday, July 25, 2017. This includes Tamarac’s system, which provides drinking water to all areas west of State Road 7/US 441 and Fort Lauderdale’s system, which serves those parts of Tamarac east of NW 31st Avenue.
These temporary conditions will not cause adverse health effects, but during this period, some individuals may experience a slight change in taste or odor in the tap water.
This preventive procedure is a routine part of water distribution system maintenance. Click the link below for frequently asked questions or, for more information, contact the Water Treatment Plant at (954) 597-3775.
