Tamarac, Florida – The City of Tamarac’s Fleet Division has been named one of the 100 Best Fleets in North America by Government Fleet Magazine. The 100 Best Fleets program ranks public sector fleets throughout North America based upon a comprehensive set of 12 criteria including: cost management; service delivery; and performance management.
Tamarac’s application illustrated several industry best practices including: the implementation of a Vehicle Utilization Program which improved city-wide efficiencies; being awarded a contract to provide fleet maintenance to a neighboring city; and the development and implementation of a new method for vehicle evaluation and replacement. The City’s application also highlighted Tamarac’s well trained staff, commitment to environmental stewardship, and robust performance management system.
Other fleets recognized in the Top 100 Best Fleets in North America include: NASA Kennedy Space Center (Florida); Tinker Air Force Base (Oklahoma); City of Vancouver Equipment Services (British Columbia, Canada); and Washington State Department of Transportation (Washington).
“We’re very proud of our Fleet Division for this amazing accomplishment,” stated City Manager Michael C. Cernech. “Being listed as one of the 100 Best Fleets in North America illustrates how Tamarac’s employees are ‘Committed to Excellence… Always!’.”
Fleet rankings will be officially announced at the Government Fleet Expo and Conference, to be held in Denver in June.
