General Municipal Elections

Elections are held in November of even numbered years, on dates authorized by laws governing municipal elections in Broward County. The City of Tamarac is divided into four Commission Districts (Districts 1, 2, 3 and 4), with one City Commissioner residing in each district. The Mayor of the City of Tamarac is elected on an at-large (City-wide) basis.

Registering to Vote

Residents are encouraged to register to vote, or check their voter status, in advance of the election. The deadline to register as a first time voter is 29 days prior to the election date. To register or check your voter registration status, visit www.registertovoteflorida.gov.

Candidate Qualifying

Candidate qualifying for the District 1 and District 3 seats will open Monday, June 8, 2020 at noon, and close promptly Friday, June 12, 2020 at noon.

City Hall remains closed at this time, and the City Clerk’s Office has made arrangements for accepting qualifying documents via email and by curbside pickup at City Hall.
